Fitness FAQ's

Q:

What is Sports Performance Training?

A:

Sports Performance Training is a strength and conditioning program specifically designed to improve athletic performance. It focuses on developing speed, agility, and explosive power for sports. Our programs are also designed to help reduce the risk of sports related injuries. We offer Sports Performance Training to individual athletes (one-on-one training), and to groups and teams.

Q:

What separates P.I.M. from other training centers and conditioning camps?

A:

Unlike most other training camps or programs, P.I.M.’s trainer is both degreed in Exercise Science and certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. We administer performance test (e.g. vertical leap, timed sprints and agility tests, etc.) before and after each camp, and our program has proven to yield fantastic results. Also, when your child trains with us they have access to free injury screenings, return to sport decision, and first aid treatment education from one of our physical therapists.

Q:

Why should I choose a personal trainer?

A:

Using a personal trainer is a great way to reach your fitness goals. A trainer can design an effective and safe program for your specific needs. They are a resource for the latest information concerning health, fitness, and exercise. Using a trainer is a great way to stay motivated and consistent with your training program. You will also be making the best use of your time by getting most out of each workout.

Q:

If I use a personal trainer will I lose weight?

A:

Yes and no. Personal training is just one piece of a complete health and fitness program. If you attend two personal training sessions a week but don’t make other necessary changes in your life (diet, activity, etc.), then you will not see very fast results. On the other hand, a trainer can design a complete program for you including one-on-one training sessions, and recommend additional training offsite (which may be necessary to reach your goals). This, coupled with a healthy diet that fits your caloric needs (which your trainer can help you determine), will ensure you reach your fitness goals!
