As of January 01, 2006, Congress and Medicare implemented an arbitrary, and yearly cap on outpatient physical therapy and speech therapy services, of $1740.00. The cap is based upon Medicare's fee schedule, and has to be tracked on a per visit basis by each outpatient physical or speech therapy provider. Once the cap has been met, you have the right to either pay cash, or transfer your care to a hospital where no cap is present.
In keeping with our mission, Progress In Motion will verify your existing utilization level at your first office visit and track your therapy costs. Based upon the information from Medicare, Progress In Motion will make every effort to not exceed the cap without your consent. That information will be shown to you so that you can make an informed choice regarding your care.
If you are in disagreement with this arbitrary limit, and if you disagree with having to drive to another provider to satisfy that limit, we encourage you to contact our state Representatives and Senators at:
